Tofu is a member of the vegetarian category .Tofu is a highly nutritious protein rich food. It is made from the curdled juice of soybean milk. Tofu has zero calories, is very healthy and protein and calcium rich food. The other name for tofu is soya curd i.e. a soft cheese like food that is made from curdling soya milk with a coagulant. The taste of tofu is very bland and it easily absorbs the flavour of other ingredients added to it.
Tofu comes in two forms. One is soft tofu and the other is firm tofu. Soft tofu is usually used in the making of diet food such as diet desserts and smoothies whereas firm tofu is used for stir fried and bake dishes.
